Pullmantur was founded in 1971 in Madrid, Spain, as a tour operator with bus tours throughout Spain and Europe.

In the 1980s, travelling within Europe switched from buses to airplanes between European capitals such as London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, etc…

In the early 1990s, Pullmantur inaugurated its first long distance charter to Caribbean destinations featuring 8 and 16 day stays.

In the late 1990s, Pullmantur joined the cruise industry which was thought to be in Spain an expensive and elitist leisure activity.
At this point, Pullmantur Cruises is inaugurated as an affiliate of Pullmantur SA.

On June 23rd, 2003 Pullmantur Air was created and began flying that same day from Madrid to Cancun with three 747s, better known as jumbos. This allowed Pullmantur to depend on itself to transport guests to Caribbean destinations and cruises.

In 2005, Pullmantur Cruises revolutionized the cruise industry in Spain by introducing the TODO INCLUIDO system. The concept of All Included quickly proved to be successful.

In November of 2006, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines purchased Pullmantur S.A. and afilliates.

Pullmantur today, consists of four core businesses; Pullmantur Cruises, Pullmantur Air, Caribbean Destinations and Bus Tours.
